    “Last Week Tonight” host John Oliver is in trouble after using his show to lambaste one of the country’s enormous coal mining providers. He even moved forward mock its chief executive.     In fact, he was quite vocal affirming that it was a making of the “evil agenda” by President Barrack Obama. It is a statement that has been met with mixed reactions among most of the people living in the United States of America, with many terming the official as someone who is just giving excuse to cover up for own his failure.

    While proceeding with his popular show, Oliver said, “I’m going to need to be careful here because when we contacted Murray Energy for this piece, they sent us a letter instructing us to ‘cease and desist from any effort to defame, harass, or otherwise injure Mr. Murray or Murray Energy. They added that failure to comply would result in immediate litigation.”

    The renowned host went ahead to tore at the 77-year-old coal magnate. He termed him a “geriatric Dr. Evil,” who was not performing his duties appropriately. He used to mistreat his employees. Asides from that, he did much to weaken the coal safety regulations through litigation which is not something a good leader should have done. According to him, Murray was “on the same side as black lung.”

    On Wednesday, Murray decided to sue Oliver on defamation claims. The lawsuit was filed in West Virginia circuit court. The top official says the show host had indicated clear intentions to assassinate his character and reputation.

Brokaw brought an editorial that wrapped up the program echoing the defense of the interview that many people didn’t want it to be broadcasted.

    Kelly commenced the interview with Jones by addressing the controversy that has surrounded the interview. She stated that many people didn’t want the program to be aired on the channel because Jone’s allegations are both offensive and scandalous on the victims of the Sandy Hook massacre. She continued to add that Alex Jones is not going anywhere any time soon and the interview will go on as planned.

    Kelly supported the justification of the interview stating that Alex Jones is a star with many listeners and even has the ear of the president. The interview prompted a lot of resentments especially from the people of Connecticut, where the incidence occurred that left about 20 school going children and other six adults were shot dead by a gunman.

    The local NBC branch in Connecticut where the shooting happened refused to air or comment on the interview. Brokaw stated in his speech that he feels for the parents of the victims and that the pain they are undergoing cannot be felt by anyone else who didn’t encounter the loss of the loved ones directly. He urged the people not to allow some agents of doom to destroy the life of the innocent and go unpunished.

    Jones outlined that the Sept. 11 terrorist attack was an “inside job.” He added that on his part he had questioned the various facts related to the deadly 2012 school shooting.

    It wasn’t the same again after the interview clips were released. According to Time.com, they resulted in an outrage and sparked the Sandy Hook Promise, which is indeed a gun violence prevention organization. It was founded by some family members of Sandy Hook victims and there was a plan to dump Kelly as the host to the annual gala.

    The group’s co-founder, Nicole Hockley while speaking to a number of top journalists said, “Sandy Hook Promise cannot support the decision by Megyn or NBC to give any form of voice or platform to Alex Jones and have asked Megyn Kelly to step down as our Promise Champion Gala host. It is our hope that Megyn and NBC reconsider and not broadcast this interview.”

    In giving her response, Kelly asserted that that it was very disappointing for the event organizers to make such an inconsiderate decision. She also dismissed Jones’ Sandy Hook theory as “revolting.”Jones expressed disappointment from Kelly’s statement. He is also not happy about the way he was portrayed in NBC’s promotional clip. He has referred to himself as a victim to Kelly’s lies and that the audio clips would bring forward the truth.
