Alison Brie, a top actor said that she was asked to remove her top during the audition of her role in HBO’s Entourage.
The comedy show actress affirms that no considerable change has been made in Hollywood in regards to the troubles faced by women actors. She has called upon the management to intervene and do more in terms of helping female actors who are equally important to the industry as men. A lot of people are looking forward to see whether or not Hollywood will intervene more strongly and fight against the violation of women in the industry.
It is not the first time such an incidence is taking place in this industry. A number of news reporting platforms have reported on similar incidences time and again. The female actors and the general public have been hoping that Hollywood hears the cry of these women and moves in to help. Unfortunately, the moves by Hollywood seem to be weak considering the violations continue to be witnessed.
According to Foxnews.com, Brie was at the ATX Television Festival in Austin, Texas for the screening of her upcoming show. She was accompanied by co-star Betty Gilpin. Entertainment Weekly reached out to them with numerous questions. One of them was about getting their perspective in regards to the general way in which things had changed for the female Hollywood actors over the years.
Brie revealed that the audition process had witnessed quite minimal change. She added that the audition process for GLOW had undergone some remarkable changes considering her extreme past experiences. The actress was unhappy with what happened when she was auditioning for HBO’s Entourage. She said that it was unnecessary for her to be told to remove her top.
While speaking to the top news reporters, she said, “Early in my career, I auditioned for three lines on an episode of Entourage that I had to go on in a bikini! Or like shorts and the tiniest shorts. And they were like, ‘Okay, can you take your top off now?’”
She also remembered a day when she was auditioned in a room full of men. After completing the scene, she was asked to take her hair down, something she thinks of as inappropriate.
