    When Emily Gerson Saines, Nelsan Ellis’ manager made the confirmation that the top actor had indeed died, a lot of people were left shocked. In fact, some others are till now struggling to swallow the bitter truth, but anyway it has already happened and nothing can be done about it.

    The most shaken by the sad news was of course Nelsan Ellis’ True Blood families who according to sources have continuously grieved since the time they received the sad news. Kristin Bauer van Straten, Stephen Moyer and Deborah Ann Woll, Anna Paquin all took to social media to share their grief. The widely renowned actor is said to have succumbed to heart failure.

    The cast of True Blood was a one of a kind show that will go down the industry’s records as one of the most amazing and entertaining ones. Paquin was featured and he was playing out his role as Sookie Stackhouse. In different instances he also shared scenes with Ellis’ Lafayette.

    On the other hand, Moyer took to twitter outlining that Nelsan Ellis was a remarkable person. According to the celebrity, Nelsan was brilliant, intelligent, charismatic, soulful and above all a wonderful dude. It was a tragic death that left a lot of people devastated and he will surely be missed for a long time to come according to Ew.

     Woll is greatly renowned for having acted out the role of Jessica on the HBO vampire drama and through twitter she outlined that this was heartbreaking. Michael McMillian described the actor as a genius and that he had a beautiful soul. He gave his condolences wishing the family the very best as they go through this heartbreaking and painful moment.

    Manganiello and Bauer chose Twitter to express their uttermost grief. They described the actor as someone with a good heart who accommodated people from all walks of life.

    Wife of Marvel comic legend, Stan Lee, passed away at the age of 93. In a statement released by the family of deceased, she was said to have passed on quietly this morning surrounded by her family. The post also pleaded the general public to give them time to grief the loss. Sources close to the family have reported that the cause of her death is a stroke that she suffered from, earlier this week, which landed her in the hospital. In a similar statement released by Marvel picture the movie house acknowledged that they have lost a member of the Marvel family.

    Joan, who was a British hat model, got married to Lee in December 5, 1947 and were married until her passing. The stars were by all account continually in love with each other and supported each other throughout their careers.

    Lee in an interview last year revealed the circumstances that led him meeting his wife. The legend explained that Joan who at the time bore the last name Clayton impulsively got married to an American soldier during World War 2 and moved to New York. While she was working as a Hat model in New York she answered the door once and she saw Lee who came to the house to see another model but immediately fell in love with the star.

    The Hollywood legend has credited his wife for being inspiration behind some of the characters he created. Most important amongst them was the Fantastic Four comic, which Lee created when his wife told him to do something fun before he retired as a comic creator.

    Joan aside from being a former Hat model is also a writer of a book “The Pleasure Palace” released in 1987. She and her husband also played a cameo in X-Men: Apocalypse. The British and American citizen was also the voice for Madame Web in the animated Spider-Man series.

    The internet has reacted to the death of Joan and several movie executives giving tribute to the star. Deadpool creator, Rob Liefeld, led the list of well-wishers with Chadwick Boseman, Deborah Ann Woll, Jake Tapper and others also paying tribute.

    Comedian and former CNN presenter Kathy Griffin seems not out of the woods yet as report have it that she was interrogated by the secret service over her joke went wrong. The comedian in May released a picture in a tweet that shows the decapitated head of President Donald Trump.

    The picture which was meant as a joke by the comedian did not go down well with the general public meaning as she was condemned from both sides of the political spectrum for posting such. She was fired by CNN in the process and later apologised for posting the picture. But it seems are troubles are not over as journalist Yashar Ali who is close to the comedian reported that Griffin was questioned by the secret service for over an hour on the Trump photo issue.

    Last month, Griffin alongside her lawyer gave a public apology for the release of the picture and she stated that she couldn’t possibly have meant the president any harm. She also described Trump as a bully and stated that she wasn’t afraid of the controversial president. She however pleaded with the white house to recognise that she is an “obnoxious comedian” who doesn’t deserve the backlash she has gotten from the news.

    Griffin’s attorney Lisa Bloom also said the issue was a first amendment issue and that citizens should be allowed to tell jokes. But it is clear this joke was taken too far and the comedian would bear the blunt. Bloom also promised that her client would corporate fully with the authorities regarding the issue though criminal charges have not been filed yet.

    Griffin is not the first person to be investigated by the secret service regarding comments made in respect of a sitting president. In 2012, Ted Nugent was investigated by the same body when he said Barack Obama, the president at the time should “suck on my machine gun”. He was questioned but no charges were brought against him at the time.

    Kathy Griffin would hope that this incident would be the last of her troubles regarding the matter as an indictment might damage her already questionable public image.

Oliver believes that the controversial travel ban by the president is not a matter that should be wished away. It needs to be looked into closely and something to be done about it no matter what.

    While addressing his viewers, Oliver said, “Unfortunately, we have to start with the fact that on Thursday, the president sent a series of disgusting tweets about Morning Joe‘s Mika Brzezinski — tweets that were absolutely indefensible. And yet, White House [Deputy] Press Secretary Sarah Huckabee Sanders, the least amusing cast member in a direct-to-DVD faith-based romantic comedy, gave it her very best shot.”

    Sanders statements obviously reflect her allegiance to the President. This is a matter that is sparking hot debates among different people. It is not clear whether Sanders is advising the president appropriately or he is just being insensitive as he continues with his sycophancy.

    The leader has been heard several times running to the defense of the president making claims that he is being attacked mercilessly and unfairly. In giving a warning, he outlined that the president wasn’t happy with the attacks directed at him in the program and would eventually hit back. One is left wondering what happened to the right to criticize objectively.

    Oliver doesn’t seem to be shying away from speaking his mind. In a recent statement, he termed the travel ban a “cruel” and “unnecessary” move which breached the right of many innocent people. It is not the first time he is getting into a controversy involving Trump.

    According to EW, Oliver doesn’t turn a blind eye to the fact that some people may of course be posing a major threat to America. However, he believes that there is a better way to deal with the issue at hand other than placing a travel ban on many innocent people.

    A number of women at the L.A.-based Fox Sports were interviewed in a bid to investigate Horowitz’s behavior at the workplace. Among those investigated were major personalities working with the media services provider as well as show producers. Those that provided information asked for their identities to be kept anonymous.     Swedish music festival might have held its last edition as producers the show cancelled the upcoming edition in 2018 over sexual assault cases reported at this year event. Bravalla Festival which has been hailed as the biggest music festival in Europe played host to stars from around the world but as Swedish police release states, the festival was also home to 11 police reports of sexual assault.

    This year event which was headlined by American rock band The Killers, DJ duo The Chainsmokers, and Alesso, the Swedish House DJ. The show was said to be the location of a rape incident as reports have it that someone was raped during the performance of Håkan Hellström right in the middle of the show

    FKP Scorpio, who is the organisers of the show, claimed that though they have tried their best to create a safe environment for the fans some people couldn’t behave. The promoters were also quoted as saying “Words cannot describe how incredibly sad we are about this, and we most seriously regret and condemn this”. This news does not do them any favours in the financial department as the promotion company which describes itself as the largest festival organisers in Europe is said to be in financial trouble with a loss of $9 million from 2016 alone.

    Moreover, this is not the first time that such reports would emanate from the festival. In 2016, the Swedish police had reported that five cases of rape and 12 sexual assault incidents had emanated from the festival. Though, these reports were not peculiar to the show alone that time around as there were also 30 cases of sexual assault reported from festival in the same weekend. The rate of sexual assault at the time was alarming to different artist that attended the show with British band Mumford and Sons announcing that they would be boycotting the show until they get better assurances from the police.

    Whether or not these reoccurring incidents are a problem associated to music festivals alone or a Swedish problem altogether is not clear. What is obvious is the fact that it paints the music culture in the country in a negative light.

    Van Susteren, a former Fox News host has been hit below the belt by the loyal MSNBC viewers. She was running the For the Record With Greta show.     According to Huffingtonpost, MSNBC president Phil Griffin was the official that announced the departure of Van Susteren. He said that they enjoyed working with the anchor and the show team. In late April before the White House Correspondents Dinner, some top news reporters reached out to the news anchor seeking to understand her take on what had been happening in her career life.

    Van Susteren had been quick to point out that she was happy with her new work station. She termed the transition from Fox News seamless. According to her, it was a great thing that she had moved with her staff from Fox News to MSNBC. She appeared optimistic, but it must have been sad for her that matters didn’t turn out like she expected.

    Some people familiar with the matter unleashed some details in relation to the matter, though they preferred to remain anonymous. They disclosed that plans to get rid of the anchor had started some two weeks earlier, but Van Susteren was kept in the dark. The sources said that Melber was the person behind the negotiations.

    CNN has reported that the anchor was making preparations to start her show when she suddenly received the news about her termination. Her husband, who happens to be a trial lawyer that has over the years negotiated the anchor’s contract, revealed that matters related to her termination were under discussion.     After the visible discontent showed by the members of the senate to the proposed health care bill earlier in the week Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell is proposing to rewrite the bill and resubmit to the Congressional Budget Office for reassessment. The senator is hoping for a swift and favourable assessment so that the bill can be passed before the senate recess in august. However, the aftermath of the Congressional Budget Office report on the original bill has led to infighting in the senate. The infighting is more evident with republican senators who have different policy agenda and have clashed with respect to the bill.

    In a bid to chart a way forward for the embattled bill, members of the Grand Old Party held a lunch meeting on Wednesday championed by the majority leader. The lunch however ended in a deadlock as republican senators could not agree on a way forward for the bill. Major dispute at the lunch arose between conservative republican Ted Cruz who is representing Texas and moderates led by Susan Collins of Maine.

    The disagreement over the bill, by the senators rest in one major issue which is the Consumer Freedom principle championed by Cruz. The proposal opens the door for companies to sell health insurance that do not meet the Affordable Care Act standard. Moderates disagreed with the proposal on the ground that it would pave the way for companies to segregate against sicker citizens in getting health care.

    The discussion at the lunch did not however yield any productive result as one senator described the discussions as just “running in circles”. Senator Cruz, a former presidential candidate for the GOP, said most of the discussion at the lunch was to “reduce premiums to make health insurance more affordable for families who are struggling.”

    President Trump in responding to the setback that the bill has had said “Democrats purposely misstated Medicaid under new Senate bill — actually goes up,” However some have questioned the president’s understanding of the issues in the bill.

    The bill which is supposed to be a land mark achievement for the president is turning out to be a banana peel.
